Mimi Sound Personalization
Sound Personalization aims to overcome the one-size-fits-all approach to audio. Mimi Sound Personalization tunes audio to your hearing abilities and preferences, restoring detail, richness, and contrast of sound. It enables you to listen at a lower volume, without missing any details.
Masked Threshold Test
Mimi’s Masked Threshold (MT) test measures the quietest level of a pure-tone that a user can perceive in the presence of a masker (i.e. noise) at a specific frequency. This correlates with the ability to make sense of complex soundscapes. This ability is called spectral tuning, with broad tuning being an indicator of hearing impairment.
Mimi Hearing Profile
Mimi analyzes your hearing test results to understand your unique hearing needs, and generates an individual sound profile that is stored on the headphone, ensuring every audio experience is perfectly customized for you whatever content you are listening to.
Test Results

Testing Frequency
During the test, the signal sweeps through a frequency range from 3.2 to 6 kHz with the user constantly controlling signal level, while the masker remains fixed, centred at 4 kHz and a bandwidth of 320 Hz. With this test procedure, we determine when the signal is audible to you or masked by the noise.
Hearing Profile Graphic
From the MT test data, we estimate your general hearing profile rather than the standard dB HL audiogram.
“Range of details you usually hear”
The graph illustrates how well you are expected to hear across various frequencies, ranging from low to high pitch, relative to "optimal" hearing (i.e. without any impairment). It helps to identify ranges where your hearing may be diminished.
“Range of details restored by sound personalization”
It also represents the corresponding sound personalization processing that compensates for lost details in the relevant areas.
Fine-Tuning

When Mimi Sound Personalization is turned on, you will see fine-tuning buttons on the profile card.
The default “recommended” option is applied as the best fit to your individual Hearing ID.
By selecting one of the additional options of “Richer” or “Softer”, this will result in the sound personalization effects being stronger or milder, respectively.
By playing a sample song, you are able to compare the original audio with different Mimi settings (recommended, richer, or softer) and choose the sound experience you enjoy the most, all without leaving the app.
You can also adjust the intensity slider to find the perfect match to your taste. The selected settings are then activated on the headphone and will be used whenever you listen with your headphones.
