Since the Mimi Hearing Test App first launched in 2014, our team has worked tirelessly to develop and refine our technology that not only delivers accurate and comprehensive results but also ensures a user-friendly experience for Mimi app users and our integration partners’ customers experiencing Mimi via a headphone or TV companion app.

Mimi Hearing Tests
We have developed two tests, a pure-tone threshold (PTT) and a masked threshold (MT) test, the premise of both of which are based on published literature and the scientific principles which underlie hearing testing in general. Everything we do at Mimi is done in a team approach, with hearing test technology and sound processing development driven by our research team.
The Mimi PTT test is a way to measure how well you can hear different pitches or tones. During the test, you’ll listen to various tones at different volumes, and you let the app know when you can hear each one. The results help create a personalized understanding of your hearing abilities across different frequencies.
The MT test tests your ability to differentiate a signal from background noise, simulating an environment in which your ears must navigate a crowded area, and provides an approximation of hearing sensitivity.
World’s Largest Database of Hearing Profiles
The results of the PTT tests taken in the iOS app have enabled Mimi to create the world’s largest database of digital hearing profiles and gain insights into global hearing trends.
