Mimi processes your music in a unique way. We mimic some of the function of the healthy human ear in a patent-pending process that is totally unique to Mimi music.
We call this Mimification. As you might have noticed, with Mimi you hear every single nuance in your music more clearly. We support your brain in recognizing the contrast in sound by adding cues to your music.
Why does Mimi sound so good?
Unlike typical music processing techniques, we specifically mimic the highly nonlinear processes that occur in a healthy ear. In particular, sound contrasts are enhanced in a way that appears natural to your
What music/audio services work with Mimi?
You can listen to all the podcasts and music you’ve bought and stored in your device’s Music library. For other sources, we currently support Spotify and Soundcloud (& more to come soon). If you enjoy what you’ve so far experienced but want more, please give us a (hopefully) positive review on the AppStore and mention which service you wish to have as this will convince your service to getting themselves Mimified too.
Why does Mimi Music use the microphone?
Besides mimifiying your music, you can also mimify the live sound around you. Mimi Music can enhance the sounds in your environment through the microphone in your phone or headset so that you can hear them better.
What is the slider at the bottom of the screen?
The slider allows you to blend in sounds around you. Imagine you’re listening to music at work and your boss wants to quickly ask you something. Instead of taking out your headphones you swipe to the right and listen to what they need this time… (or not).
It works even if you are wearing headphones that block your ear, by mixing sound from one of the device microphones with the content on the device.
Can I use the app with loudspeakers?
You certainly can! Mimi’s processing sounds just as great with loudspeakers.
You can expect a particularly surprising effect using small portable speakers. Try it!
What is my earprint?
Your Earprint works like your fingerprint. It’s as unique as you are. Since your fingerprint does not tell too much about the way you hear, we take your earprint via our patent-pending hearing test. By that we can guarantee that you always get the best sound, tailored to your hearing profile or as we call it: Your earprint.
